Froppy is meant to be safe to keep open all day. The app is local-first, avoids screen and text capture, and keeps website forms optional.
What the app stores locally
The desktop app stores the data it needs for the pet experience on the user's machine.
- Pet name, size, skin, position, stats, and state.
- Settings, quiet hours, sound controls, and onboarding completion.
- Local notes, reminders, chat history, focus timer state, and explicit memories.
- No default cloud sync for app data.
What Froppy does not read
The current MVP avoids the private content categories that make desktop companions feel unsafe.
- No screenshots or screen contents.
- No browser page, document, message, or email content.
- No typed-text capture or keylogging.
- No raw private window titles in AI prompts.
Website forms and counters
The public website can count direct download clicks and accept optional update signups, but the primary installer download does not require a form.
- Download clicks may increment a simple Supabase counter.
- Optional update signups may store submitted contact details in Supabase.
- Contact form messages are stored in the shared Froppy support inbox before Resend notification.
- Optional snack support opens Stripe-hosted Checkout; Stripe processes payment details and the Froppy site does not receive card data.
- Privacy-safe website analytics run only when configured.
